807 bowled by Jerry Adams Jerry Adams had games of 259,279 and 269 for an 807 series, bowling in the Thursday Seniors League last week at the Nugget. Jim Reynolds had 662, including a 258 game. 500 club singles winners named Nancy Twyford bowled 672 to win a singles tournament sponsored by the Pahrump Valley 500 Club last weekend at the Nugget. Jerry Neese won the groupie division with 735. For a list of all the winners, go to the Web site, pahrumpbowlers.com, or to Terry Hand Realty and the Nugget Bowl. The next club tournament -- a 9-pin no tap doubles event -- is Oct. 7. That same day, there will be a club meeting, starting at 10:30 a.m.. Club dues are to be paid by Nov. 1, according to a publicity release. How to report bowling news The 2006-2007 bowling season is under way at the Nugget Bowling Center. Fax or hand-deliver news to the Pahrump Valley Times; the fax number is 727-5309 and is available 24 hours a day. The address is 2160 E. Calvada Blvd across the street from the Calvada Eye. Do not e-mail any bowling standings. There are limits on scores: games of 225 or better and series of 600 or better are the minimums for men. Games of 180 or better and series of 500 or better are the minimums for women. For Junior (YABA or Teens), the minimums are games of 100 and series of 400 for both boys and girls. Standings should include win-loss records of all teams in the respective leagues. Other news, such as special tournaments, whether contested in the Nugget or at any other locale, should also be reported. The deadline for submitting bowling news is 5 p.m. Tuesdays. |
