Matthew Stevens of Pahrump began classes Aug. 21, 2006, at Harding University in Arkansas.

He attended Pahrump Valley High School, where he was named among the top ten student-athletes in Southern Nevada. He was an active D.A.R.E. role model and an AYSO soccer referee.

His parents are Chuck and Mary Ann Stevens.
