World Series free roll qualifier Saturday
The seventh in a series of no-limit hold'em poker free roll tournaments will be contested Saturday at the Nugget, starting at 4 p.m. The series will determine a Pahrump representative in the 2007 World Series of Poker. Players qualify for the free roll by completing at least 40 hours of live play each month at the Nugget. Remaining tournaments are Oct. 14, Nov. 11, Dec. 9, Jan. 13 and Feb. 24 (which is the championship event). In the free roll, players are awarded 10 points and $1,000 for winning; 5 points and $500 for second; 3 points and $300 for third; 2 points and $200 for fourth, and 1 point and $100 for fifth. A total of $10,500 has been paid out to 19 players thus far. Blake Lozo is the series leader with 20 points; at 19 is Frank Polansky, and at 15 is Jim Robertson. The top 20 in points after the January tournament qualify for the finals. |
