Saturation patrol results in 38 citations, one arrest
For six hours last Sunday the Nye County Sheriff's Office conducted a "saturation patrol" of Pahrump streets, roads and highways. Speeding and driving without car insurance were the most common violations for which drivers were cited. The beefed-up enforcement action was funded by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, which oversees the Nevada Highway Patrol. A sergeant and three deputies were involved in the patrol. Deputies made a total of 43 traffic stops for 56 noted violations. They issued 38 citations. One arrest was made of an individual with five outstanding misdemeanor warrants issued by Pahrump Justice Court. The following list comprises the roadway infractions and the number of such incidents: Driving with excessive speed, 32; Driving a vehicle without insurance, 10; Driving without a valid driver's license, 4; Driving with a suspended license, 2; Driving without a license in possession, 1; Driving an unregistered vehicle, 1 ; Driving without use of seat belt, 2; Driving without use of child restraint, 1; Failure to use turn signal, 1; Driving a vehicle without a rear license plate light, 1; Failing to notify DMV of a change of address, 1. |
