Former television news anchor and host Lew Gitlin was recently arrested for possession of marijuana and bailed himself out of custody at the Nye County Sheriff's Office.

Gitlin then failed to appear for his Pahrump Justice Court hearing on Monday and was re-arrested, charged with failure to appear, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Gitlin worked locally for KPVM-TV, Channel 41, until a falling out with the station's management, then went to work for rival station KPVT-LP, Channel 30 as "On the Spot" host.

Reportedly, Gitlin has been working for the Amargosa Valley schools.
