Pahrump Valley's boys will open the Southern Nevada Class 3-A Soccer playoffs against Boulder City Thursday at the Bettye Wilson complex on the Cimarron-Memorial High School campus in Las Vegas.

At the same time -- 4 p.m. -- the Lady Trojans will face Boulder City in a first-round game.

Those pairings were decided Wednesday, after the Trojan boys defeated Mesquite Virgin Valley 7-0 and the PVHS girls played to a 0-0 tie against the Bulldogs.

Pahrump Valley's boys, the 2005 state 3-A runnerup, finished 8-3-1 in the league, and so did Ely White Pine and Boulder City.

Las Vegas Faith Lutheran, which got the No. 1 seed, closed 10-1-1 and will take on White Pine in a first-round game at 6 p.m.

Virgin Valley was 3-9-0, with Overton Moapa Valley at 1-9-2 and Las Vegas The Meadows 0-10-2.

The girls' final standings are incomplete.

Faith Lutheran went 8-0-2 to finish its second straight undefeated league campaign, while Pahrump Valley was 5-2-3.

Boulder City is 5-1-2, but two games have not been reported. White Pine (3-6-0) and Moapa Valley (2-7-0) each has a game missing in the standings. Virgin Valley finished 0-9-1.

The regional playoffs conclude Nov. 4, with the state tournament to be played at the same site Nov. 10-11.

The top teams in the Northern 3-A boys Sierra Division are defending champion Truckee, Calif., 5-2-1; North Tahoe, 5-1-1; Incline, 4-3-0, and Sparks, 1-4-2. In the Sagebrush Division, Battle Mountain is 8-1-1, Spring Creek 5-1-2, Yerington 5-4-0, and Winnemucca Lowry 4-5-0.

In Northern 3-A girls' Sierra play, Truckee is 7-1-0, Incline 5-2-0, North Tahoe 4-2-0, and Zephyr Cove Whittell 1-5-0. In the Sagebrush Division, Spring Creek leads at 9-0-1, with Dayton at 9-2-1, Winnemucca Lowry 7-3-2, and Fernley 5-5-0.

The Northern playoffs are Nov. 2-3-4 at Lowry, with the top two teams in both girls' and boys' divisions advancing to the state tournament in Las Vegas.
