Commissioners to hear appeal on sewer plantPVT
An appeal by Utility Inc. of Central Nevada on their request to expand sewer treatment plant "F" will be heard by the Nye County Commission during a meeting in Tonopah Wednesday. The meeting may be viewed by video conference from the Bob Ruud Community Center in Pahrump. The meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. Utilities Inc. claims the comments made by Public Works Director Samson Yao on the request were made after the Nye County site development plan review and are therefore invalid. The sewer plant is located on Avallaneda Street east of Leslie Street in the Calvada North subdivision. Improvements to the Calvada Eye will be up for discussion, including a new roof, estimated to cost $80,000 to $85,000 and mold abatement, costing between $50,000 and $55,000. An update of the Pahrump master plan by Tri-Core Engineering will be up for approval, a $21,315 expense which would be paid for by the Nye County Payment Equal to Taxes. A bill to amend the Nye County code on special revenue funds for disbursing the Payment Equal to Taxes the county receives for Yucca Mountain and the Mineral Lands Act disbursements will be heard at 10 a.m. A bill amending Nye County code on management of cemeteries will be heard at 10:30 a.m. Commissioners will consider applying for funding under the Nevada Conservation and Resource Protection Grant program to complete the preparation of a shortterm habitat conservation plan for the desert tortoise in Pahrump Valley. Commissioners will set a date for a public hearing on the Pechstein Ranch subdivision development agreement, a private, equestrian, gated community. Six parcel map applications are up for approval to subdivide property in Amargosa Valley. |
