I'm running to ensure a better run county for my children and grandchildren." Platform, Slogan and Main Objective To serve the people not any special interest groups or parties. PETER LIAKOPOULOS DISTRICT 5 Nevada Residency 9 Years Family/Background Wife Jenny, a daughter and two grandsons in Illinois Education Some college credits Political Experience "I ran for State Senate in Illinois in 1986. In 1987 I became a Township Committee member for the Republican Party and was an alternate delegate for George H.W. Bush in 1988 at the New Orleans convention. I have lobbied for hunter's rights in every legislative session since 1999 and for veterans in the 2005 session. I was also a member of the original Shooting Parks Board in Clark County." Affiliations Member of Moose Lodge in Pahrump Accomplishments "I am very proud of the Wall of Heroes in Wal-Mart and my work for veterans. Additionally, at the 2003 legislative session, I helped get our Department of Wildlife; it was a division of Natural Resources." Reason for running "I am running because I believe this is going to be the most exciting and dynamic time in our history." Platform, Slogan and Main Objective To bring more businesses into Nye County to create jobs here so that we can live, work and play here. This would also bring infrastructure and take the tax burden off the backs of the homeowners. JANICE E. Affiliations Member of Nye County Democrats Accomplishments Organized transportation for the elderly and handicapped during 2004 elections; Organized a Nye County Democratic fund raiser. Reason for running "I am running because I believe that it's time to change the way Nye County does business. It needs to fulfill the needs of its citizens and stop catering to special interests." Platform, Slogan and Main Objective Citizens First "My objective is to represent the citizens of Nye County as commissioner in district 5. My agenda is to help Nye County grow into a place where working men and women can make a living wage, raise their families and have a voice in their government.
