AMARGOSA VALLEY -- A fundraiser to benefit Toys for Tots and No to Abuse will be held Nov. 4 at Horizon Academy in Amargosa Valley.

Sponsored by the Horizon Academy Student Council, the event will feature raffles, a car wash, a baked goods auction and lots of great Mexican food, including chili rellenos, tostadas, and Miss Martha's special rice and beans.

Lunch will be free to anyone donating an unwrapped toy.

In addition to the fundraiser, Horizon Academy will conduct an open house to give the public a chance to tour the campus and talk to staff and students.

The school was recently named by the state of Nevada as the "model program" for all the state's private schools.

Both events will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the baked goods auction to be conducted by auctioneer Tony Docimo at 1 p.m.

Fundraising events will be held at the academy's south parking lot, on the corner of Highway 373 and Mecca Road, in Amargosa Valley.
