Daniel McLaughlin and Richard Baxter were arrested on Monday, Oct. 2, after allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle on Conestoga Parkway.

Deputy James Ericson was dispatched to the scene to investigate an in-progress stolen vehicle report.

McLaughlin and Baxter reportedly pulled up next to a red Honda in a station wagon on the street. After attaching a rope from the Honda to their station wagon, police reported, McLaughlin was seen getting into the red Honda while Baxter drove the station wagon and towed the Honda away.

Highway Patrol Trooper Ray Hubbs located the vehicle approximately a mile from the victim's residence.

Both Baxter and McLaughlin are charged with grand larceny auto, possession of a stolen vehicle, and conspiracy to commit a crime. They are being held at the Pahrump Detention Center on $15,000 bail each.

The vehicle was returned to the owner.
