SOCCER Trojans in 11-2 victoryDaimon Nelson scored four goals and Sergio Castro added two, as the Pahrump Valley High School boys' soccer team racked visiting Las Vegas The Meadows 11-2 in a Southern Nevada Class 3-A League game Thursday. The victory moved the Trojans to 3-1-1 (10 points) in the league. The girls' game against The Meadows was canceled because the Las Vegas team has called off its season. Sam Martorano, Iggy Wagner, Nick Owens, Erik Rodriguez and Alex Fonseca added a goal each for coach Gene Smith's team, which played at Mesquite Virgin Valley Tuesday and is at home against Boulder City Thursday (3 p.m.). The Steve Coleman-coached PV girls played at Virgin Valley Tuesday and will go to Boulder City Thursday (3 p.m.). Faith Lutheran's boys lead the unofficial South 3-A standings at 4-0-1 (13 points). Ely White Pine is 4-1-1 (13), with Boulder City 3-1-1 (10) tied with the Trojans. Virgin Valley is 2-4-0 (6), The Meadows 0-5-0 (0), and Overton Moapa Valley 0-4-0 (0). In the girls' league, Boulder City is 4-0-0 (12), Faith Lutheran 3-0-1 (10), White Pine 2-2-0 (6), Pahrump Valley 1-1-1 (4), Moapa Valley 1-3-0 (3), and Virgin Valley 0-5-0 (0). NOTES -- Northern 3-A soccer teams are divided into two divisions ... In the Sierra boys' group, North Tahoe and defending state champion Truckee, Calif., are 3-1-0 (9 points), with Incline at 2-2-0 (6), Sparks 1-3-0 (3) and Zephyr Cove Whittell 1-3-0 (3) ...
