Top teams in Times ratings named
Las Vegas Cimarron-Memorial was named No. 1 in the Pahrump Valley Times Nevada High School football ratings' Top 10. The Spartans finished 10-0 playing a difficult schedule. The class champions were Dayton (9-0, 3-A); Battle Mountain (10-0, 2-A), and Pahranagat Valley Alamo (9-0, 1-A eight-man football). The top 10 included all 4-A teams: 2. Sparks Reed; 3. Reno Bishop Manogue; 4. Las Vegas Del Sol; 5. Douglas; 6. Las Vegas Spring Valley; 7. Galena; 8. Las Vegas Silverado; 9. Reno North Valleys, and 10. Las Vegas Sierra Vista. In 3-A, the ratings had Overton Moapa Valley (2), Mesquite Virgin Valley (3), Sparks (4) and Spring Creek (5). After Battle Mountain, the 2-A top five were Needles, Calif. (2), Yerington (3), West Wendover (4) and Pershing County Lovelock (5). Tonopah was No. 2 in 1-A, followed by Carlin (3), Smith Valley (4) and Eureka (5). |
