Cancer benefit at Sheri's Ranch

Join the Vets for Brother Robo for a cancer benefit from 3-10 p.m. Aug. 26 at Sheri's Ranch.

There will be food, soft drinks, alcohol for purchase, music and a raffle. The admission price will be $25 per person or $40 for a couple (a free raffle ticket will be included with purchase of admission). Tickets are available at Sheri's Ranch and the Wild Rose Florist in Pahrump.

If unable to attend the event, donations may be sent to VNV/LV MC, P.O. Box 805, Pahrump, NV 89041-0805. All proceeds will go to Brother Robo.

Adopt from China

If interested in learning more about adopting a child from China, please attend Great Wall's free, informative workshop from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 26 in the Jewel Box Theatre at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo in Las Vegas.

China's eligibility requirements and the home study process will be discussed. Families who have recently adopted will be present to answer questions.

Hospice camp for children

Nathan Adelson Hospice presents Camp Mariposa Washoshe, for children ages 6-12 who have experienced the death of a close friend or loved one. The camp will be held Aug. 25-27 at Camp Lee Canyon at Mt. Charleston. Space is limited to 50 children from Pahrump and Las Vegas.
