TONOPAH -- A $1.16 million bid for the chip seal and paving program in Pahrump, Amargosa Valley, Beatty and Crystal, will be up for discussion when Nye County Commissioners meet here starting at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The meeting can be viewed by video-conference from the Pahrump Community Center. The road bids are up for consideration at 1:30 p.m. The only other timed item is the continuation of a public hearing on a development agreement for the Mountain Falls North subdivision, to be heard at 9:30 a.m. Commissioners will decide what direction to give county staff on a project manager for the proposed detention center project. Commissioners will also vote on whether to use Nextel service for emergency services personnel as a backup to the Nye County Sheriff's Department. The creation of a senior deputy district attorney position and the appointment of Marla Zlotek to that position are on the agenda. A $40,000 economic development grant to the town of Gabbs is up for approval. A member of the public submitted an item to discuss landscaping requirements to comply with the soils report for the property. Commissioners will consider a proposal by the Central Nevada Rural Water Authority that sets criteria for protesting water rights applications. A fireworks permit for Outlaw Pyrotechnics Inc., 2280 W. Betty St. in Pahrump, is also up for consideration. Commissioners will appoint a representative to the Nye County Debt Management Commission to replace a member who passed away. Different funds for impact fees and revenues from land sales would be established under an item requested by the county comptroller's office. |
