GIVE IT UP FOR GOEDHART

PHILLIP GOMEZ / PVT
Ed Goedhart, one of three Republicans running for the State Assemby District 36 seat in Carson City, got a rousing reception at Wulfy's Saturday evening. The place was filled with Goedhart supporters as well as a bevy of other political hopefuls who gobbled pizza, shook hands and talked with friends, and also said hi to Rod Sherer, at right, former manager of the Smith's grocery store in Pahrump. Scherer holds down a corporate position with Smith's in Salt Lake City but swung down for the Goedhart get-together to lend his support to the campaign. Goedhart's Republican opponents are John M. Brown of Pahrump and Ed Higbee Jr. of Alamo. Also running is Pahrump Democrat Laurayne Murray, who was on hand at Goedhart's rally.
