Nye County Sheriff's Office deputies have taken a homeless man into custody and reportedly gained a confession from him in a case of child sexual assault, the office said in a prepared statement.
Arnold Petkovsek, 23, allegedly molested the victim, a three-year-old whose age and name were not reported, during an overnight backyard camp-out roughly three months ago. He was arrested and held under $50,000 bail July 23. The suspect had been living with the victim's family after it offered him shelter and work.
Petkovsek, said Det.'s Lehigh and Olson, "admitted to the crime and stated that he [assaulted the victim] one night when they spent the night together in a backyard tent."
