Residents who spoke against a proposed rezoning of land off Thousandaire Boulevard at a Nye County Commission meeting last Wednesday emphasized they weren't opposed to a proposed 30-acre shopping center on the corner of Thousandaire Boulevard and Homestead Road as suggested in a page one article in Friday's Pahrump Valley Times.

The opposition was to a request to rezone a parcel at Thousandaire Boulevard and Vicki Ann Road and a parcel at Vicki Ann and Oakridge Avenue from residential to commercial.

Opponents questioned why the developers needed to build a shopping center at those two locations when a shopping center was being proposed only a couple blocks away on Homestead Road, the location pictured in the photograph on page A1. We regret the confusion.
