James Michael Clancy, 60, entered a plea of guilty to two gross misdemeanor counts and one felony count of open and gross lewdness in Pahrump District Court Monday.

Clancy, while working as a medical assistant at Specialty Medical Center, was arrested last September for groping and fondling female patients' breasts.

A complaint filed by the district attorney's office also states that Clancy asked other female patients inappropriate questions about their sex lives, including asking one woman with a body piercing about oral sex and another about masturbation.

During his arraignment, Clancy asked if the lifetime supervision that went with being convicted of a sexual offense could be toned down after a certain length of time if he behaved.

Judge Robert Lane said that although there might be a legal recourse to reduce the supervision, "I wouldn't count on it."

Clancy's three charges were reduced as part of a plea bargain from the six charges that were originally filed by the district attorney's office involving incidents with six different women.

The charges to which Clancy has pleaded guilty involve three women who gave the exact dates of the incidents.
