The Pahrump Valley Trojans open the 2006 football season -- their first under the direction of coach Brian Hug -- in Las Vegas Friday against Class 4-A rival Chaparral; kickoff is at 7 p.m.

In the Pahrump Valley Times' Friday edition will be a complete report on the 2006 Trojans, who are the defending Southern Nevada Class 3-A League champions.

The Trojans will be sporting new uniforms as well as a new approach to the game as they embark on a nine-game regular-season schedule against the Cowboys. Pahrump Valley's home opener is Sept. 8 against Chino, Calif., Don Lugo High School.
