By MARIE WUJEKPromoter halted 'kiddie rides'Publisher
Rumor and innuendo fly through the air in Pahrump like dust and plastic grocery bags. I am writing to set the record straight. An article was published in the Pahrump Valley Times, expressing the writer's concern over the kiddie rides that are held at halftime at the speedway. As luck would have it, at the next race, Dave Hall, owner and promoter at the speedway, canceled the kiddie rides. The track had been over-watered, creating a safety hazard. He chose to cancel the rides that night because it was unsafe. Back to the rumor and innuendo statement ... Buzz Sodeman, who wrote the article, was blamed by a few for the kiddie rides being permanently canceled. Ladies, gentlemen and the children of Pahrump ... the kiddie rides will continue as usual at the speedway. Hat's off to Mr. Hall for protecting the children. Shame on the rumormonger who fails to get the story straight before passing it on. Wishing you a great time at the races Saturday at 7 p.m. |
