WILDLIFE

MANAGEMENT AREA

Anglers continue to experience good to excellent fishing for largemouth bass at Adams-McGill, Cold Springs and Haymeadow reservoirs.

Many of the bass were in the three- to four-pound range.

Trout fishing slowed due to higher water temperatures. The upper ends of Adams-McGill and Dacey reservoirs reopened to fishing Wednesday.

Daytime temperatures have been in the upper 80's while evenings have been dropping into the 50s.

EAGLE VALLEY

RESERVOIR

Trout fishing continues to be slow with most of the fish being caught using Powerbait and nightcrawlers. Boaters have been more successful than shore fisherman with most fish being caught during early morning and late evening hours.

ECHO CANYON

RESERVOIR

Fishing for trout continues to be slow due to warm water temperatures. Crappie and largemouth bass continues to be good.

LAKE MEAD

Top water action for striped bass continues to be good throughout the Boulder Basin. Stripers in the 12- to 15-inch range are being caught with top-water lures and jigs from 33 Hole to Government Wash. Striper are still being caught sporadically off the Special Events and Sail beaches with live shad being the best bait. Wind conditions this week have kept many anglers off the lake.

Stripers and catfish are being caught in the Overton Arm with most of the catfish coming from the Muddy River area. The only contacts at Echo Bay this week came from anglers at the Nevada Striper Clubs monthly event with many members bringing in small stripers.

One angler at Callville Bay brought in 25 stripers in the same size range. Seven largemouth bass were caught in the narrows north of Callville Bay using top-water lures.

LAKE MOHAVE

After Friday's rainbow trout plant, anglers fishing Willow Beach on Saturday limited out and one lucky angler caught a five-pound brood stock rainbow that was released by the hatchery. Several small stripers were caught by boaters.

URBAN PONDS

The catfish plant originally set for Aug. 10 was rescheduled for Thursday in ponds at Floyd Lamb State Park, Lorenzi Park and Sunset Park in Las Vegas, Veterans Memorial Park in Boulder City and Hafen Park in Mesquite.
