Calvada group member plans for future

In the discussion breakout group exercise on July 13 with the county's consultant, Hogle-Ireland, the evening was not without its humorous moments. The 27 participants divided into groups, and the groups gathered around four tables. They were assigned to advocate for one of four town center possibilities.

The groups were also tasked with placing small stickers on provided maps of the four town center locations. The stickers identified the civic or business uses the group members wanted to see developed there.

In the group advocating for the Calvada Eye, one of the participants, looking at all the little stickers stuck on the map, asked one of the Hogle-Ireland team members how long it would take for the shops, offices, plazas and other civic uses to come about.

"About 20 years," the consultant representative deadpanned.

"We should have a cemetery sticker on there in that case," said the woman. "Cause that's where we'll all be."
