Last Monday a man out for a walk was shot at by another man.

Deputies were dispatched to Idaho Street east of Laguna Street in the Calvada area, where a person threatening another with a firearm had been reported.

When the deputies arrived, they found Peter Langer, 74, of Pahrump, who said he had been walking west on Hacienda Street when the incident occurred.

Just past Oakridge Avenue, Langer alleged, a man who lives at 2541 E. Hacienda St., Joseph Tilbury, 62, began chasing him and yelling for him to stop. Langer stated that Tilbury then fired a shot at him.

When deputies contacted Tilbury, he admitted to firing the shot, saying that Langer had trespassed on his property.

Tilbury was arrested, booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, aiming and discharging a firearm and possession of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

He was held on $8,132 bail, was freed and awaits a court date.
