Wulfenstein wins super stock main

Bryan Wulfenstein, a hard-working quality athlete at Pahrump Valley High School a few years ago, won the 20-lap super stock feature Saturday at the Pahrump Valley Speedway, beating Rick VanBuytene to the checkered flag.

It was the first career speedsports win for Wulfenstein. Milo Petaros was third and Steve Robertson fourth in the race, which had Jim Elder, Dan Snowden and John Pietrorazio also starting.

Nine drivers were on the 20th lap in the mini-stock feature, when Bubba Ray took the checkered flag. Jason Skinner, Terri Little, Rick VanBuytene, Rick Gast, Eric Slusher, Carl England, Mike Napoleon and Richard Weseman were second through ninth, respectively.

Alex Buckwalter completed the top 10, and on the starting grid were John Burch Sr., Nick Oskilanec, Jamie Hall, Bill Delahunte, Keith Young, Tom Buckwalter, Mike Lysinger, Robert Pearsons, Ron Romaine, Dustin Oliver, Frankie England and Andrew Oskilanec.

In the IMCA modifieds' 25-lap main, Levi Keifer won, with the next six finishers all on the lead lap at the quarter-mile dirt oval. Jason Pike, Leland Hibdon, Ryan Roath, Jim Bonetti, Jerry Buesig Jr. and J.R. Caha all completed 25 laps. One lap back was Jon Jensen, and completing 23 was Fred White.

Ryan Cottrell won the 15-lap Dwarf car feature, with Mark Ramey, Mark Dillie, Bobby Meek and Renee Cotrell all on the final lap at the finish. Bruno Pella was one lap down, and Jeff Connors had to drop out on the start.

Court Connell won the pro-4 main, with Marty Mclaugh, Rob Connell, Cory Little and Jerry Duncan also starting.

Sam Stringer won the Coupes of Nevada feature, a 15-lap event that had Mike Gray, Brett Iverson, Bob Clark and Steve Stringer all on the final lap.

In the outlaw karts' 10-lap event, Austin Keifer won, with Taylor Bonetti and Cole Hammack in close pursuit.

Racing resumes at the speedway Saturday at 7 p.m. with all of the classes expected to compete.
