Moore, Peers among the early tourney leadersPVT Seven-year-old Derek Moore shot a seven-over-par 37 Monday to take the first-day lead in the Gene Goins Memorial, a Pahrump Valley Junior Golf Association tournament that ends the 2005-2006 season. The tournament ended its two-day run on the par 60, 3,600-yard Lakeview Executive course Tuesday. Moore, one of the top players in the Farmers Cup Adult-Junior Series last spring, shook off a slow start to record his 37 in the boys 7-8 division, which had nine entries. In second place with 48 was Chance Walker. In the girls 9-11 division, Tori Peers shot a 42 and held a five-stroke lead over Sierra Tucsnak (47) going into the final round Tuesday. In the other divisions, the leaders were: Josh Reiner, boys 9-11, with 35; Jeremy Lindemann, who had a hole-in-one on the course last week, was second at 42. Emilyne Biggs, girls 12-14, with 57-53-110. Taylor Ball had 58-53 -111. Elliott Owens, boys 12-14, with 35-36-71. At 38-37-75 was Shane Lindemann. Desiree Fortin, girls 15-18, at 31-32-63, six shots ahead of Ashley Keller (38-31-69). Brad Leske, boys 15-18, at 47-38-85. Second with 42-45 - 87 was Richard Martindale. Lauren Koenig, girls 7-8, with 51. Recording a 59 was Hayley Hall.
