Local World Series free roll poker tourney Saturday
The sixth in a series of 2007 World Series of Poker free roll no-limit hold'em poker qualifying tournaments will be played Saturday in the Pahrump Nugget Casino, starting at 4 p.m. There are 26 players entered in the tournament; they completed the required 40 hours or more of live play at the Nugget during the month of July. Men and women who are playing in live games in August can compete in the September free roll Sept. 9, if they accumulate 40 or more hours of ring-game play. Remaining free rolls will be Oct. 14, Nov. 11, Dec. 9, Jan. 13 and Feb. 11 (the championship tournament that decides the Nugget's representative in the 2007 World Series of Poker). In the free roll, players are awarded 10 points for a victory, 5 for second, 3 for third, 2 for fourth and 1 for fifth, with the cash awards $1,000; $500; $300; $200 and $100, respectively. A total of $10,500 has been paid out to 19 players thus far. The standings 1. Blake Lozo, 20 points, $2,000; (April, May winner). 2. Jim Robertson, 15, $1,500 (March winner). 3. Frank Polansky, 14, $1,400 (July winner). 4. Rob Lisull, 10, $1,000, (June winner). 5. Ben Lagos, 5; tied with Tom Duke, Ken Fiege, Russ Eleogram, Andy Franzen. 10. Doug Gregory, 3; tied with Todd Bock, Ron Lankenbuhl. 13. Nella Lawson, 2; tied with Ray Guin, Rupert Hodnett, Greg Reno, Don McDermott. 18. Mike Greenwich, 1; tied with Skip Woodland. |
