PAHRUMP COMPETITORS IN THE T-TOWN 250 Woods third in motorcyclesPVT
Riding a Yamaha, the Woods-Finerty team completed the 242.9-mile-course from Johnnie to Beatty to Pahrump in 4 hours, 54 minutes, 30 seconds. Mike Childress of Wrightwood, Calif., and Steve Hengeveld of Oak Hills, Calif., won in 4:09.00, more than 39 minutes ahead of the California trio of Jeff Trulove, Chris Ray and Max Eddy Jr. Their KTM team finished in 4:48:29. Hollis Harris Realty, along with 7-11 of Apple Valley, Calif., and John Burr Cycles, sponsored the Woods-Finerty venture. Two all-Pahrump teams did not finish the race. Placing 32nd was the Husaberg team of Rio Carson, Andrew Doubleday and Ben Doubleday. Finishing 41st were Brandon Lee Ryan and Brant Dunyon, aboard a Yamaha. The Husaberg team was sponsored by Public Image Landscape, M Skaggs, Remax, Vision, Evi Woodworks, E Skaggs, Concepts in Design and J. Delibos. The Ryan-Dunyon team was sponsored by Malek Building Materials, Morales Bros, and Ryan Racing. In the quads division, Shaun Moore of Pahrump teamed with Nicholas Granlund of Las Vegas to finish seventh overall, completing the course in 5:22:03. They rode a Honda, sponsored by Ace Hardware, NGR Racing, NV West Cycle II, Thredz, Skatrak, Double M Construction, Extreme Finish, Rated X, Maxima, Keager, CT Racing, BKT, Hinson and AC Racing. Wayne Matlock of El Cajon, Calif., and Chad Prull of Phoenix, Ariz., won the division, aboard a Honda. Their time was 4:54:22, which was 14 seconds ahead of the second-place Roll Design quad ridden by Doug Eichner of El Cajon and Marc Spaeth of San Diego. A Yamaha team that included Eric Shenberger of Pahrump, along with Brandon Holly of Henderson and Damon Gill of Las Vegas, did not finish. There were several Pahrumpians involved in special classes, but were either well down the list of finishers or were unable to complete the race. The locals were Jeff Perkins and James Tyler; Anatolio Bracamontes, Aldo Araiza and Benjamin Bracamontes. All are from Pahrump, except Benjamin, who lives in Amargosa Valley. |
