DeMeo fan letters

Let him do his job

An open letter to Justice of the Peace Dawn Haviland and Justice of the Peace Tina Brisebill:

Tony DeMeo is a great sheriff! Please let him do his job.

GARY MARCHINKE

Bad check this out

In regards to the article ("DeMeo ordered to justice Court," PVT March 29) in the Pahrump Valley Times about Sheriff DeMeo, I would like to say the man is doing his job.

I was under the impression it was against the law to write bad checks and from what I read here the man writing them has been real busy. So what is the complaint against the sheriff? The sheriff prior to him received 16 complaints against the man who stole $1000 from me and more from my daughter and other people and he never did a thing. So what is the complaint?

Let Sheriff DeMeo do his job or is it because he is not a relative of the city dads? That seems to be the general way things are done here; hire a relative. But, I will say again, let Sheriff DeMeo and his deputies do their jobs as they have been doing and stop trying to stand in their way all the time.

MARY M. OLSON

DeMeo is a delight

I was shocked at the lead article ("DeMeo ordered to justice Court," PVT March 29) about Sheriff DeMeo doing his job. Isn't that what we are paying the man to do? Our crime rate is one of the lowest in the nation. If I were out writing checks and stealing money from the local businesses I would be arrested. That's the way I understand the law.

Maybe the people of Pahrump should praise the sheriff's department for doing an excellent job. I thought the media was impartial in writing and reporting the news. This in my opinion was a reprimand for simply doing his job. I ask you who is representing former Sheriff Leiseke?

Who ignored my complaint about (name deleted)? He extorted money from mother and myself. As a skip tracer I located the man. When he was finally brought to court the judge released him without bail and to this date neither my mother nor myself have received any of the money that he took and did nothing about the three thousand dollars he took from us.

Under the first amendment you need to report the other side of the story. Let's level the political playground.

Sincerely,

A.M. OLSON-FEAKER
