Poker series seat at stake

The second in a series of $2,100 free roll tournaments to determine a seat in the 2007 World Series of Poker will be contested April 8 in the Nugget, which has four tables.

To qualify for a monthly free roll tournament, a player must have accumulated a minimum of 40 hours per month in live play. Originally, players were required to have at least 50 hours of live play. The deadline to accumulate hours for the April 8 tournament is March 31.

The top 30 players will qualify for the free roll; the weekly list of hours will be posted each Monday at 11 a.m. at the poker room.

Payouts will be $1,000 for first place, plus 10 points; $500 for second, plus five points; $300 for third, plus three points; $200 for fourth place, plus two points, and $100 for fifth place, plus one point. Jim Robertson won the first tournament last Saturday.

On Feb. 24, 2007, the top 20 accumulative point earners in the previous 11 free-roll tournaments will play in the final tournament to decide who wins the seat for the 2007 WSOP main event.

See the poker room manager for more details, or call 751-6500.
