A longtime Nevada resident with ties to a brothel in the northern part of the state and a New Orleans strip club owner have teamed up to purchase the "World Famous" Chicken Ranch located on Homestead Road, according to Nevada Brothel Owners' Association consultant and lobbyist George Flint.

Michael Fellon and Jason Mohney purchased the 40-acre property for roughly $5 million from previous owners Russ Reade and Ken Green, who have attempted to sell the business for a couple of years, Flint said.

Fellon has ties to David Burgess of the Mustang Ranch close to Reno and has been involved in the Old Bridge Ranch brothel - very near the Mustang and Wild Horse ranches - for more than a decade.

Mohney owns four strip clubs in New Orleans, according to Internet sources, and is Fellon's financial backer. Flint said the licensing application is being completed, adding that he would be in Pahrump next week to review the paperwork prior to its submittal to county officials.

Fellon, contacted earlier this week at The Chicken Ranch, deferred comment to Flint, who is guiding the new owners' through the process. "Mr. Fellon is a nice young man," Flint said, adding Fellon was distantly related, through marriage, to Joe Conforte of Mustang Ranch - and Internal Revenue Service - fame.

Flint said Fellon has been interested in purchasing a brothel in the Pahrump area for the past two years. "He met with everybody down (here) and he had his heart set on the Chicken Ranch," Flint said.

The Chicken Ranch is situated next to The Resort and Spa at Sheri's Ranch brothel, which has evolved from a nondescript brothel to a tourist destination, and is in the process of building a housing development in the vicinity. Flint did not say if Fellon and Mohney have similar plans in mind.

The Nye County Board of Commissioners are also the county's liquor and brothel licensing board, and Flint made it clear commissioners would have to give their blessings to the change in ownership. Flint does not expect the licensing application to be submitted before late March or early April.
