It's likely to be another late night session going on toward the witching hour at the Bob Ruud Community Center tonight, as Pahrump Regional Planning commissioners have 33 planning items on their agenda, not counting old business and discussion of future workshops and meetings.

The items coming before the commission are numerous and multivariate, including two items continued from previous meetings and three scheduled public hearings that are "re-hearings" from previous agendas.

Ten items are listed on the consent agenda, which if not pulled for separate and detailed analysis should go quickly. But a dozen new public hearings or action items are listed for zone changes, including a number of requests for the controversial Mixed Use designation, waivers, parcel map applications, master plan amendment applications and tentative map applications.

A couple of items stand out: a master plan amendment application, zone change and tentative map application for a 76-lot residential subdivision at the corner of Gamebird Road and Leslie Street; and a tentative subdivision map application for approximately 20 acres, long planned for development as St. Thomas Place, on Highway 372 and Woodchips Avenue.

The latter, if approved, would allow for developer Jerry Wang to build his envisioned 860-unit residential condominium, hotel, timeshare penthouse-suite subdivision, with ancillary facilities, such as a restaurant, tennis courts, retail shops, a sports facility, swimming pools and parking garages. Building heights are planned for four stories.
