LETTER: The naked truth

In regards to your (opinion) about the "octogenarian nudist who found himself in jail" (Doug McMurdo, "Recap of stories that never made the news, PVT Sept. 2) as a naturist for 15 years I can assure you that this man is in no way a nudist. He is nothing short of an exhibitionist, perhaps fetishist, who likes showing his genitals to women and children.

If his pants were down, that shows he was wearing pants in his house before he dropped them to show off for the neighbors, so he doesn't even live nude in private.

In no way does he represent nudists/naturists or the lifestyle.

Nudists/naturists believe it is good and healthy to live free of clothing, and to raise children in such a free and comfortable home since nudity is in no way harmful to them. The old man may call himself a nudist, but he most certainly is not and I hope nobody confuses him with people who are. He's just a dirty old man who likes to drop his pants for kids.

Take care,

MATT COOK
