The usually par 4 second hole at Willow Creek golf course has been converted into a par 3 while workers scramble to expand Utilities Inc. of Central Nevada's Treatment Plant No. 3, which is over capacity, a fact that has stalled or halted development in the valley.

Nye jumps into fray

On July 27 Nye County Commissioner Gary Hollis and representatives of the Nye County District Attorney's office went before the Public Utilities Commission for a prehearing conference to address issues with Utilities, Inc. of Central Nevada (UICN).

Brett Iverson won the 20-lap Coupes of Nevada feature race at the Pahrump Valley Speedway Saturday night, in a race in which five of the six starters were on the lead lap.
