Water sheds across and down Highway 127 last weekend as monsoon rains and blazes caused
by lightning strikes kept regional firefighters busy. The road has since been repaired and is open
to motorists.

Monsoons, wild land fires pester Death Valley area
A heavy rain Sunday morning helped the firefighters achieve control over the burn and most headed home toward the San Bernardino area soon after, only to encounter flooding on Highway 127 near Dumont Dunes.
