A Bureau of Land Management firefighter points out one of 13 structures destroyed in a wild land blaze that erupted Friday afternoon near Kings Way and Squaw Valley in southern Pahrump.

A tow truck operator preps a Pahrump Valley Fire-Rescue Service tender that had been involved in a crash while en route to fight the fire. Two people were killed in the crash; emergency crews and volunteers from Pahrump's construction industry safely evacuated homeowners in the area of the fire, which began as a controlled burn. Such burning has been banned until further notice.

This propane tank had swelled and was sizzling as it lay near a singlewide trailer that had been destroyed in the blaze that began on Kings Way is southern Pahrump, roughly a quarter mile south of Homestead Road and Thousandaire Boulevard.
