Pahrump veterans will have Memorial Day ceremonies throughout the weekend for families to enjoy. Here are two not to miss:

Memorial Day celebration Monday - A two-part Memorial Day celebration will be held beginning at 9:30 a.m. Monday at G.G. Sweet Veterans Memorial Park, located at the corner of Gamebird and Money Street.

The first segment will be a memorial service to celebrate and pay homage to deceased veterans. The second segment will honor those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan to show support for our troops.

Participating in the event will be an honor guard from Bulk Fuel Platoon, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Las Vegas; the Pahrump Valley High School ROTC color guard; the Pahrump Springs Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution; Commander Thomas MacAdam USN, Ret., Pastor, Saved by Grace Lutheran Church; and boys and girls drill teams from the MCJROTC, Basic High School, Henderson.

The event is open to all veterans and the general public. The park museum will be open at the conclusion of the drill team performance, featuring a special showing of official Iraq and Afghanistan photographs.

VFW Memorial Day ceremony Monday - VFW Post 10054 will hold a Memorial Day ceremony at 10 a.m. (not 11 a.m. as originally announced) Monday at Chief Tecopa Cemetery.
