Republican Women fashion show a big hit

The Pahrump Valley Republican Women raised $5,000 at their well-attended fashion show and luncheon, held Saturday at the Pahrump Nugget Steak House. Programs such as the mammogram van, senior center baskets and youth scholarships will benefit from the proceeds raised from sponsorships by local companies and raffle ticket sales of donated items.
This year's annual event featured models representing 22 community-minded sponsors: All State Insurance; Awards Plus; Besser & Concorda Las Vegas; C C's Bridal; Curves; Data Commodities, Ltd.; Frasier Furniture; Hafen & Hafen Reality Co.; Integrated Business & Tax Solutions; Laskowski Construction; Pahrump Chamber of Commerce; Mountain Falls; Pahrump Family Dental; Pahrump Nugget; Pahrump Valley Auto Plaza; Peter Liakopoulos; Republic Mortgage, Inc.; Saitta Trudeau; Smith's Grocery; The Legacy Las Vegas; Pahrump Mirror; Threadz by ACE and Woodbury's; Educational Pathways; Mountain Falls Golf Course; Saddle West; Corhiba and the Executive Golf Course donated raffle prizes.
Models included Inez Allison, Miriam Hermann, Carol Lynn Bonham-Dodd, Suzanne Winans, Tony Leal, Annmarie D'Agostino, Vonnie Chacon, Michelle Miller, Courtney Carter, Karen Jackson, Cathy Chiazzes, A.J. Dodd, Retta Smith, Luci Lowel, and Carole Woodbury, ending with a victory lap by Reita Whiteman, chairwoman of the event.
Mike Cosgrove, President of the Pahrump Chamber of Commerce was master of ceremonies, and the coordinating committee included Angela Sherer and Tamara Trudeau.
