Nugget bowling alley grand opening set for early June

PVT

The Pahrump Nugget has announced the grand opening of its 24-lane bowling alley and video arcade for children. The event will take place at noon on June 3.

"We've already sent out the VIP invitations," said Director of Marketing Lori Doller.

The 25,951-square-foot addition in the back of the big box casino will include The 11th Frame Bar and a concession stand, according to Doller. The project broke ground on May 18, 2004.

Remodeling of the Nugget's main interior in the back hallway has changed the old bingo room into a bar and stage for weekend entertainment, Doller said. Beginning June 24 every weekend The Nugget will feature live entertainment. The bar will also have a dance floor. There will be no cover charge.

On July 3-4, the old rock and roll band "The Diamonds," popular during the 1960s and early 1970s and still performing around the world, are scheduled to perform.

Entrance to the bowling alley will be through the Nugget's front entrance doors, Doller said. No date has yet been announced for the opening of the Nugget's new convention center still under construction on the site.
