The Pahrump Girls Fast-Pitch Softball Association will holds its second annual Spaghetti Dinner and Ugly Cake Auction May 21, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the community center. Tickets are available by calling Charla at 727-7217, Stacy at 751-1411 or any of the PGFSA players. All proceeds will be for the program. Softball association slates registration The Pahrump Girls Fast-Pitch Softball Association has scheduled registration for the summer league. Girls ages 13 to 17 are eligible to compete. Players now in the Under 12 division who would move up next season are invited to play this season. Registration dates are: May 13, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; May 14, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; May 20, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.; May 21, 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. All sessions are at Petrack Park at the Field A Snack Bar. The cost is $40 for one player in a family, $35 for a second and $30 for each additional player. The target date for opening the season is June 17; the league will play games through the end of July, with doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday nights. Rough Riders set gymkhana The Pahrump Valley Rough Riders will hold a gymkhana Saturday at the McCullough Memorial Arena at 6 p.m. Sign in starts at 4:30 p.m. For more information, call Bridget at 751-5540 or 910-9021 Farmers Cup tourney May 15 The final Farmers Cup Adult-Junior Golf Series tournament will be played May 15 at Mountain Falls. The series, sponsored by Farmers Insurance, is hosted by the Pahrump Valley Junior Golf Association. Pre-registration is required for each event; it is May 11 at 5 p.m. for the May 15 event. Tee times will be set by Mountain Falls personnel the Friday before the tournament. All tournaments will begin after noon. The tournaments will be for two-person teams (one adult, one junior 7-18 years old). Through the first three tournaments, the leaders include Nick Owens-Dave Chapple, boys 15-18; Desiree Fortin-Dave Gilmore-Joe Roderick, girls 15-18; Cameron Belcher, with three adult partners, boys 12-14, and Ashley Keller-Brownie Brown, girls 12-14. The other age groups are boys and girls 6-8 and boys and girls 9-11. Clarke to hold golf scramble Rosemary Clarke Middle School will hold an athletics fund-raising golf tournament Saturday at Willow Creek. The scramble will begin at 9 a.m., with proceeds to benefit student-athletes at the middle school. The cost is $40 per player, with each entrant to receive a golfer survival kit, a free lunch and chances to win prizes. Junior golf sets spring opener The Pahrump Valley Junior Golf Association spring-summer tournament dates are May 7, June 4, June 27, July 5, July 11 and July 25. The annual Gene Goins Memorial is Aug. 1-2. The fall-winter dates are Sept. 10, Oct. 1, Nov. 5 and Dec. 3. The tournaments scheduled June 27, July 5-11-18-25 and Aug. 1-2, have 3 p.m. tee times. The rest will begin at noon. All tournaments will be played at Executive. The annual PVJGA Summer Clinic is June 20-21-22. Golfers 7 to 18 years old who want to compete in junior tournaments are required to attend the clinic. Senior softball Mondays, Fridays The Pahrump Senior Softball program will meet at 9 a.m. Mondays and Fridays at Petrack Park. |
