Gwendolyn Moshier

Viewing for Gwendolyn Moshier, 79, who passed away March 17 in Pahrump, will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Pahrump Family Mortuary.

She was born July 29, 1925 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was a resident of Pahrump for nine years, coming from Chino, Calif., where she had lived for 17 years.

She was a factory worker for Honeywell before retiring in 1990. A Christian, she attended Pahrump Community Church.

Her husband Ray Moshier of Pahrump; sons Bob Lawrence of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Ken Lawrence of Prineville, Ore.; daughters Patricia Friedheim of Silmar, Calif., and Janet Bridges of Redding, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren survive her.

Marion Wimberly

Marion "Toby" Wimberly, 68, passed away March 18 in Las Vegas. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Murphys, Calif.

He was born Jan. 21, 1937, in Mena, Ark., and was a resident of Pahrump for four years.

He served in the U.S. Army and worked as an auto parts salesman before retiring.

His wife Laurelee Wimberly of Pahrump; son Craig Wimberly of Sacramento, Calif.; daughters Caprice Ferguson of San Andreas, Calif., and Debbie Freeman of Orangevale, Calif.; brother Benny Wimberly of Fresno, Calif.; sister Donna Giles of McCall, Idaho; and five grandchildren survive him.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service handled the arrangements. (3/18/05)

Alva Justus

Services for Alva J. Justus, 77, who passed away March 9, in Las Vegas, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Pahrump Community Church.

He was born May 28, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio and was a 19-year resident of Pahrump. He worked as a truck driver before retiring.

His wife Patricia of Pahrump; children James, Jerry, Shawn, Debie, Cindy and David; sisters Goldie Musser, Olive VanOss, and Bertha May Klear, all of Ohio, and Glenna Schegal of Indiana; and 10 grandchildren survive him.

Desert Memorial of Las Vegas handled the arrangements. (3/9/05)

John Wooley Sr.

A celebration of life for John Holden Wooley, Sr., 78, who passed away March 20 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Neptune Society of Nye County chapel.

He was born April 9, 1926 in Minnesota, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then settled in Portland, Ore., where he began his career with the YMCA. He spent 12 years in Portland before taking an opportunity to work for the YMCA in Honolulu, where he stayed until 1980.

John moved back to the mainland to work for the YMCA in Redwood City, Calif., from where he retired in 1988. Upon his retirement, he went back to Oregon, where he was the director of Camp Collins and a member of American Legion Post No. 59 and of Elks Lodge No. 1858. In 2000, he left Oregon for the warmer climates of Pahrump.

His wife, Jane (Russell) of Pahrump; daughter Stephanie of France; son Jay of California; stepsons John, Bill, and Richard Wilhelmi, all of Oregon; stepdaughters Patti Namauu of Las Vegas (previously Hawaii), Margaret Yarnall of Oregon and Tamara Flores Sahagun of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; a yorkie named Puppy and a Cockatiel named Birdie all survive him.

John's parents preceded him in death.

Paul Carpenter

Private family services will be held for Paul A. Carpenter, 67, who passed away March 15 in Pahrump.

He was born Nov. 14, 1937 in Torrance, Calif., and was a resident of Pahrump since 1995, coming from Las Vegas.

He served in the U.S. Navy and then worked as a general laborer. He was a member of VFW Post No. 10054.

His wife Tatjana "Toni" Giovello of Pahrump, and his cats Pooptsie, Tiger and Momma Cat survive him.

Mary Williams

Private family services will be held for Mary C. Williams, 79, who passed away March 20 in Pahrump.

She was born June 13, 1925 in Ross County, Ohio, and was a resident of Pahrump since 1980, coming from Denver.

She worked as a store manager, was a member of Pahrump Valley United Methodist Church, the Pahrump Republican Women and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her husband Daryl of Pahrump; son Victor; daughters Dwanah and Jackie; seven grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren survive her.
