LETTER: In praise of Little
Nowhere in the Constitution does the word "democracy" ever appear. Yet, a "Republican form of government" is contained throughout. The sad truth is that know-it-all hucksters, like Bearss, have perverted that invaluable "piece of paper" ever since her hero, Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) took power. Then what is the difference between a Democracy and a Republic? It is distinctly vast. A democracy is mob rule - an appeal to the masses to promote something, which may or may not be to the best concern for all (propagandizing the uneducated and poor minorities to vote on an issue!). In contrast, a republic is a rule of law, which through our Constitution limits the power of a potential dictatorial, all-powerful government and politicians. In 1938 the brave Chinese-American patriots were camped out alongside the streets of Portland, Ore., lawfully demonstrating and appealing with large signs, "America, please don't send scrap iron to Japan." Obviously, that message was totally ignored by know-it-all FDR, as well as the many documented messages he got from his own aids, prior to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor! When I was standing over the Arizona Memorial and peering down at the gravesites of hundreds of brave Americans, I broke out in tears, remindful of the warnings and in uncontrollable emotional rage, I shouted out, "What a waste, you poor sacrificial lambs, giving your lives worthlessly!" Modern liberalism has no connection to classic liberalism of years ago, when good neighbors helped one another in various crises and refused to become wards of tax sucking handouts from an over-bloated, totalitarian government. The fraud called liberalism nowadays, which is being espoused by the likes of Bearss, et al, is just another rehash of what they have been (whether by criminal intent or by slavish mistake) promoting for years - socialism/ communism - a state sponsored, cradle-to-grave subsistence for all the subjects! Sure they bring up Social Security as some kind of constitutional right, relentlessly, which has become a demagogue agenda. What ever happened to old fashioned, rugged individualism, where every man with ethics was seeking his independent, all-American dream with the hindrance of big, government controls facing him? Our successful free market system has been the inspiration for the worldwide economy - even the former community third world entities! If these demagogues are so concerned for the downtrodden poor and minorities, then why don't they get help and seek a real, needful agenda - educating the populace about the importance of individual responsibility, necessary to attain success and to defend our sovereignty? Instead these power hungry rascals are forcing socialism through fraud, waste and corruption down our gullible throats! What moral decadence. Americans of all stripes should take not of these "best-kept secrets" and demand honest, ethical government from their elected officials. It is long overdue for the eat, meat and retreat gang - to awaken to these facts and to exercise their individual responsibility to defend our Constitution at all costs from all terrorists, whether they are inside or outside our hemorrhaging borders. For a free printout of all 535 elected members of Congress voting records (another best-kept secret) go to jbs.org and simply ask for your representatives. A well-armed and educated (with truth) citizenry is the best defense against shysters and charlatans! For eternal freedom, VINCE BOGDAN |
