SUNSET ON SUNRISE?
Survey results 'inconclusive'

Over the past week Sunrise Cityhood Association backers conducted their random telephone survey of residents living within the boundaries of the proposed city, with the results apparently not boding entirely well for the project to incorporate the central part of Pahrump.

Shawn Gleason, top, was one of five Pahrump Valley wrestlers to win an individual title in the Southern Nevada Class 3-A Regional Championships Saturday at Moapa Valley High School in Overton. The Trojans outpointed Mesquite Virgin Valley 189 1/2-175 1/2 to win the team championship.

Trojans reign as South champs

OVERTON - Pahrump Valley won Nevada state championships in wrestling in 1986 and 1987, so one could understand the anticipation - as well as the excitement and intensity - which were palpable in the Moapa Valley High School gym here Saturday.
