Tonopah defeated visiting Beatty 69-64 in a free-wheeling Nevada Central Class A Division boys basketball game Friday. The Hornets lost despite firing in 11 3-point baskets. Steven Sullivan, 32, of Beatty defends against Tonopah's Dominic Merlino as Miker Hermanson, 21, and Jeff Schroeder move in on the play. The loss eliminated Beatty from playoff eligibility.
