PV soccer teams learn tough lessons

BOULDER CITY GIVES TROJANS PROBLEMS IN 3-A LEAGUE GAMES

PVT

The Southern Nevada Class 3-A League soccer season ends Oct. 27, so what happened to the Pahrump Valley High School teams Tuesday should be valuable lessons, with a basic message: Don't back off.

The boys, running past league teams without much pressure as they achieved eight consecutive wins, had to settle for a 1-1 tie with pesky Boulder City, now just 2-5-2. And the Trojans didn't get the deadlock until Jerry Zimmerle scored with 10 minutes left in the game.

The PV girls learned that Boulder City is still the team they have to beat if they will go anywhere in the playoffs. The Lady Eagles won 2-0 to make it a sweep of the league series against PV, which had put together one of its best offensive shows ever against BC in a 4-3 loss last month.

The BC girls are 7-1, while Pahrump Valley is 6-2-1.

The Pahrump Valley teams play Las Vegas Faith Lutheran Tuesday, the boys at home, the girls there.

On Thursday, the girls to go Overton Moapa Valley, while the boys are at home against the Pirates.

Both teams travel to The Meadows to complete the regular season Oct. 27.
