Obituaries
A memorial service for Pat Diggins, 79, who died April 17 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. He was born Feb. 12, 1925 in Moorhead, Minn., and was a 10-year resident of Pahrump. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a retail clerk before retiring. His wife Bertie of Pahrump; daughter Clarice Perrigo of Ohio; sons Frank Diggins of Oregon, Ken Diggins, Brian Diggins and Kevin Diggins, all of Arizona; sisters Mary Remley and Trudy Hayes; 11 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren survive him. His father Francis Diggins, mother Gertrude Eich, and brothers John, Bill, George, Frank and Alfred preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice in Pahrump. (4/17/04) Robert Killion Services for Robert E. Killion, 67, who died April 11 in Las Vegas, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Neptune Society of Nye County chapel, 720 Buol Lane, with Pastor Dick Bauer presiding. He was born Aug. 9, 1936 in El Dorado, Kan., and was a resident of Pahrump for eight years, coming from Victorville, Calif. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and then worked as an income tax accountant. His wife Ann M. Killion of Pahrump; daughters Katherine, Kerry and Victoria of California; sons Kendall and Kevin; brother Ronald Klinkerman of Kansas; sister Katherine White of Kansas; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren survive him. Neptune Society of Nye County handled the arrangements. (4/11/04) Randy Hoshal Private family services have been held for Randy Hoshal, 53, who died April 12 in Fairfield, Calif. He was born June 18, 1950 at Travis AFB in Fairfield. He worked as a cook for the Nevada Test Site for 18 years and for Saddle West for five years. His wife Glenna Hoshal; son Scott Hoshal; daughter Cindy Burt; and four grandchildren survive him. (4/12/04) F.H. Alden Services for F.H. "Bud" Alden, 75, who died April 14 in Pahrump, were held at the General Spence National Guard Armory in Guernsey, Wyo., with military honors provided by the Guernsey VFW and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Interment will be in Prairie Rest Cemetery in Guernsey. He was born May 3, 1928 in Kallispell, Mont., and was a resident of Guernsey and Pahrump. A 1947 graduate of Sheridan High School, he received a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts from Montana State University. He served in the U.S. Army with the 4th Infantry Division during the Korean War and married his high school sweetheart Dorothy Hamilton on May 21, 1951. They lived in Cheyenne from 1958 to 1971 and then moved to Guernsey. He worked as a supervisor for Peter Kiewitt and Sons for 28 years before retiring. He then ran a Windshield Doctor business in Platte and Goshen counties. After retiring he and Dorothy spent 18 years traveling the United States, Canada and Mexico. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of the Guernsey United Presbyterian Church and was an avid volunteer at the Trail Rut Golf Course in Guernsey, Guernsey State Park and Preferred RV Park in Pahrump. His wife of 52 years, Dorothy M. Hamilton Alden, of Pahrump; daughters Kathy (Mike) Wright, Vickie (Bill) Bonham and Mary Kay (Kevin) Bohnenblust, all of Cheyenne; and six grandchildren survive him. His parents Rosamond and Harold Joy Alden, brother George "Sonny" Alden and sister June Fagen preceded him in death. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Guernsey United Presbyterian Church. Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel of the Chimes handled the arrangements. (4/14/04) Narvin Keeney Services for Narvin G. Keeney, 71, who died April 18 in Las Vegas, will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday at First Southern Baptist Church in Pahrump. He was born May 4, 1932 in Missouri and was a 23-year resident of Pahrump, coming from Arizona. He served in the U.S. Marines and was employed as an ironworker. A Christian, he was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. His wife Roni of Pahrump; sons Michael (Becky) Keeney and Patrick (Jennifer) Keeney, both of Missouri, and Don Peterson of Arizona; sisters Karen and Harriet of Missouri; brothers Bob, Keith and Gary of Missouri; mother Edrie of Missouri; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild survive him. His father and one sister preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. Pahrump Family Mortuary handled the arrangements. (4/18/04) |
