The Nye County District Attorney's Office has a bad check unit to assist citizens and businesses in the collection and the prosecution of bad checks passed in Nye County.
The program is designed to obtain full restitution by offering a DA-supervised payment program in lieu of prosecution. The writer of the bad check is responsible for the program's administration costs.
Investigator Karen Nelson (751-7080) can provide more information about the program. Business hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
