Wild horses now in the hands of the Bureau of Land Management will be auctioned via satellite on Aug. 6, according to the agency.BLM wild horse auction Aug. 6Wild horses now in the hands of the Bureau of Land Management will be auctioned via satellite on Aug.The animal preview begins at 8 a.m. Bidding starts at 9, with an auctioneer from Fort Worth, Texas leading the event. To bid an individual must be qualified and assigned a bid number by the BLM. To be approved call the BLM at 1-800-633-6094. The auction will be aired on Galaxy 3, transponder 18. Fifty mare and foal pairs will be auctioned, with the bidding beginning at $250. All foals were born to Nevada mares this spring at the National Wild Horse and Burro Placement Center at Palomino Valley, near Reno. Forty geldings and 40 studs, all under age 5, will also be offered, with bids starting at $125. All geldings and studs were gathered in the winter of 1998-99.
